Happy Meal

So, I had a Happy Meal for lunch the other day. Yup, you read that right. A McDonald's Happy Meal. You ask why. Because I was feeling down and needed some pick me up. So a Happy Meal it is... Unfortunately, it didn't do much to make me happy. Instead, I had to go to Boost Juice for some mood boosters. Kidding, hahaha!! But I really did have a Happy Meal for lunch and a drink from Boost Juice though. I had to ask the cashier what were the choices for a Happy Meal. *cries* It's my first time ok? I am clueless!! That's how I got my fish sandwich. Not a fillet o' fish. A fish sandwich. All because of the Happy Meal toy. Things I do for my nieces!! They had better be ready to wipe my bum when I'm old and bedridden. Honestly! But I love them both to bits. I love them sooooo much, I'm going to have another Happy Meal in two weeks' time to get another toy so that each niece will have their own toy. And not fight over it! Kids fighting over a toy is...

Stairs and a Pole

My legs hurt. Walked up the stairs from 2nd floor to 10th floor. Three days. In a row! Talk about doing exercises while at work. Well, there you have it. Hahaha! My idea of keeping fit. Takes me longer to get back to my office but it's worth it. Otherwise, it's all sit and no "play". Speaking of fit, tried something new I have. It's just me and a metal companion. Pole fitness class!! Now my arms are sore. Front reach, twist, combo. How exciting!

Updates Schmupdates

I feel like skipping class tomorrow and the day after next. How can we have classes on Easter weekend..... T.T... Week 14 is coming up... I am struggling with my project paper. Gosh, I want to say 'hate' so much but I have to refrain from doing so. Think positive think positive, gah!!! Met my supervisor after the submission of my first Introduction draft.... I wanna cry.... Changes I have to do. Changes I feel so lazy to do.... Sigh. Good thing is, she said that my English is good. Thank you. ********************************************************************************* Took care of my niece for the whole day the other day, alone! I was at a lost on what to do with a 1 year plus baby. But I managed. With me going after her to eat her lunch as she ran around the living room, hid behind the curtains, climbed up and down the sofa. Babies!!! But she's really adorable. The other day, she swiped a cup full of water from my hand. Water spilled onto the table and ...

FB on Smartphones

Sigh... smartphones are dangerous... Especially when you use it for Facebook. Apparently, I've been liking random pages and adding random people in my account. -.-' I only knew when a message came. "XXX has accepted your friend request." I'm like... "What friend request? I didn't add anyone!" What.... I removed that person from my friend list. Sorry, my fault... hahaha. I was viewing the pages that I liked on my profile. And then, "Wait. What is that?" I saw 2 pages that I liked which I didn't even know that I liked. (Tongue twister) Like huh? I don't recall liking them... I don't even know what it is about. My gosh.... The sensitivity of a touch screen phone is scary.... So sensitive till you don't have to push its buttons any more. (Isn't it pun-ny? Hahaha!) Really really random.

The Start of 2014

Image
It's a cold, cold night.... Brrr...Fingers and toes are clammy. Nose is stuck. Anyway, Happy New Year!!! This picture above is dedicated to everyone whom I have intentionally and unintentionally irritated and yet patiently took my behaviours or shenanigans without dumping me as their friend or running away from me. Hee hee. I thank thee very much. Just imagine my face with the expression of the minion above. Bleah! Ok, haven't been updating much. Let's start with the basics. It's the new year, I'm going to be a year older, I'm going to have more white hairs, more wrinkles, more fat on my belly. I'm going to have as well, more sleepless nights, blurry days, sore throats, days when I just feel like dying or not waking up to face reality. That's the appetizer. Here comes main course meal 1. The New Year started quite sadly for me...Other than exams, which were the least on mind with so many things happening, there were a lot of news that wer...

Round Butt?

Just got back home from the gym today when mom wanted me to go out and pack lunch. I motioned to my gym attire: sleeveless top, sports bra (visible) and three quarter tights. "I can't go out like this. I have to bathe first and change." Mom said this: "It's ok la. You look nice. And your butt is round." I did not know how to reply...

I Got Inked

Image
I got inked!! Finally. Was waiting to go with Ei... getting impatient too. Hahaha. Facebook homepage was spammed with everyone who have already voted and I had not had my turn yet. It made me all the more eager to go!!! But at last, I threw in my votes into those ballot boxes. Yippee! The finger...! I got mine. Did you get yours??

Don't Sweat It

Image
Oh my golly gee whiz... I have so many things on my mind which I want to write about but my fingers cannot keep up with my thoughts. Now now, let's see. Ah, yes. I scolded my baby niece for the first time. Hahaha. She's a few months old but she can learn to differentiate a scolding tone and an endearment tone. It was more of a loud "Eh" while looking sternly (as sternly as I could) at her. Cause she was throwing tantrums and gave this sharp ear-piercing scream while I was carrying her. She stopped fussing... hahaha. And who says Kathleen cannot scold a baby? :P I am trying to learn about myself again. Don't we all? Mom says I'm crazy at times. Why? Cause I sweat the small stuff, and when it comes to the big stuff, I'm as cool as a cucumber. Where got?? What she says: - I was very nervous the night before my registration at UPM as a student. I didn't sleep the whole night. (small stuff) - I travelled on my own in Bangkok, Thailand, a...

What A Week

Image
A rough week, sort of. Been having really sleepless nights AND interrupted sleep. Monday night, I slept at 2am-ish, rushing my OB assignment. Yea yea, I procrastinated a bit. I got started the week before, then I got stuck at 2 pages and just couldn't think of anything to write to make a minimum of 5 pages. In the end, I did a 6-paged one. LOL. During the night, I unconsciously rubbed my right eye, thereby contaminating it with God knows what. Guess what happened when I woke up on Tuesday morning? THIS!!! Argh! An eye infection of sorts. Swollen eyeball. *wails* The feeling was so crappy. Dahla I have not been looking my best, I had this. Sigh. Took MC lo... Doctor said no TV or computers. I'm like "What?" And here I thought of catching up with housework doing the family's laundry while watching TV and he says no TV. :( Didn't go to work but I still went to class in the evening. I sort of slept it off with medication and woke up with reduced swell...

Accounts and Our Earth

Image
I am going to shoot myself. FIFO, LIFO, Weighted average. How come I do not understand what I am reading? Matilah aku. Kena tembak depan pelajar-pelajar yang lain and pensyarah nanti. Those of us with no accounting background at all are struggling to cope with this subject. I can do this Kathleen. "It's elementary my dear girl." Urgh. Will await judgment day when we do our presentation this week. And bring back the scars of battle... If we ever make it out alive... Oh, by the way, have a look at the two world maps below. Can you spot the difference? Not the resolution or blurness of it, please. Mercator Projection Hobo-Dyer Projection Hint: Check out the North America and Africa continent. Apparently, there were some politics going on regarding the map that was used. That it did not represent the true size of certain continents. As you can observe from both maps, the gridlines are there as a marker for size. In...

Grammar Nazi - Part 1

Image
OK, grammar Nazi time... Honestly speaking, I am not an English expert. Subjects like phonetics or the origin of the English language are not known to me as I do not have a degree in English. However, my English is good enough for me to spot mistakes that either make you want to cringe or sit the offending party down to an intensive English language lesson! The pictures below are mistakes that I see nearly everyday. These belong to a property developer company. Browse through the pictures below. The mistakes are so glaring that I really do not understand how such error can occur from a company like them! What does having a fully equipped fitness centre got to do with being "energetically"? First of all, the usage of the word energetically is wrong. Even the word energetic is already wrong in this context. You do get the message that they are trying to convey, but it makes you (or me rather) go "Energetically what?" This is an easy exa...

Light Bites 4

Ok... Blogger changed their layout. Great! Not. Now I have to take some time getting used to it. Grrr... Facebook had better not change my profile layout to timeline too. Timeline my foot. It just makes me all the more lost looking the time thingie. Till we were born.. Speaking of time, let's go to the age topic. An issue a lot of women are sensitive about. Ask them, "How old are you?" They will start shooting you with so many nonsensical answers. But they never reveal their true age. Me? I wonder if I am in some sort of trouble. A lady thought I was 22 years old. An unlce thought I was in high school. Like are you kidding me??? When I go out with Eileen, people tend to assume I'm the younger one and she's the older one. *shocked face* So.... When I hang out with younger people, I blend in so well, they forget that I am the oldest among them. Not good. Ah well, not going to worry so much about it. When it comes to the crunch, I should be able to handle myself...

Chinese New Year 2012

Image
Happy Chinese New Year everyone.... :D Ain't I very the CUTE?    Yea... well the picture above doesn't really have a connection with CNY but every CNY I will always remember my grandma. I captured this photo with a camera. Talk about inception... A photo in a photo... hahaha. I still miss her dearly... cause we were very close I'd say.     After she passed away, Eileen and I started this tradition among the four of us sisters. To pour tea for our parents on the first day of Chinese New year. We wish them well and they, in turn give us their blessings and the angpows, of course! I'm not sure how it happened but we ended up kneeling down in front of both our parents while giving them their cup of tea.     See? Complete teapot and cup set, lol.    This only came about three years ago... Why, I am not sure. This year, like the Hari Raya style, I asked for forgiveness from my two oldies (parents). I am sure I must have caused them a l...

Light Bites 2

People... never never drink and drive. It is dangerous yo! My tolerance for alcohol has either decreased, or that glass of Sangria was made of wine that contained a more than your usual percentage of alcohol. My head was throbbing, my vein was more visible and my heart was beating faster..! Anyway, woke up with rashes on my body. Sad. Looks like I can't do social drinking much. Huh. It was only one small glass....... Even less than a can of beer or a box drink. Yet, I still had breakouts. Grr... Oh by the way, the Sangria here in Malaysia.... is pffftt... Lin2 and KT's gf LL also agreed. Once you've tasted the wine in Europe, even the cheapest, the wine in Malaysia can no longer be compared. Huh. But I had an enjoyable time meeting up with my Uni mates: (KT, Jenny, Ash, Tee, Lin2 and Meow!!!) I haven't seen Meow for a year... and we used to be super close. Lol. We're like Kath and Meow. Hahaha. Hilarious! Still as pretty as always and so are her 'bullying...

Investor's Day 2011

Image
I had a slight injury the other day. Nothing too major. Fell down the stairs and hurt my butt. Reminded me of one episode in Grey's Anatomy where a cheerleader was hospitalized for "breaking her butt". Thank God I didn't fall face forward down the steps, I didn't roll down the steps like those you see in drama movies and thank God I didn't hit my backbone on the steps as well. I shall elaborate further on that later, now, I want to talk about Investor's Day! Went for iCapital's AGM the other day. Didn't really know what was going on. There were resolutions of who and who of what post, a seconder then a vote to put something into motion. We were given these yellow voting cards but I didn't use them as I had no idea what I was voting for. (If it's the upcoming GE, then I will know.) After that was over, the talks began. The stock market, the Euro crisis, US, China. For the first time in my life, I learned words like gross domestic product (...

Simple Things

Someone made my day today. It was just a simple act of consideration from a total stranger which made it all the more worth sharing. I paid my parking ticket and was coming out of a shopping mall onto one of the main roads in Subang. Got stuck as there was a long queue at the red lights. There was this particular car that had its headlights shining directly into my line of sight. To block off the glare in order to see the road properly, I used my right hand to shield my eyes. (My eyes my eyes....*drama moment*) I was in that position only for a minute when the glare suddenly disappeared. I turned and saw that the driver had toned down the car's headlights. I was kinda surprised and I burst out laughing in my car. Like, "Wow!". The driver was observant enough!! I didn't have to wave like monkey or curse for the lights to be dimmed. And... it was unexpected. Felt slightly embarrassed, so I just waved and smiled a thanks to the shadow in that car. Cannot se...

Light Bites

I know... A bit outdated on the posts. :P Been a busy bee. So here's another one to tide you through till the next post. A Summary of the Week I Had Saturday (03/09) Went for a karaoke session with Chian, SY, David and Lionel. Arrived late and left early. Sad... didn't get to really let my hair down and really catch up with them. Urgh! Sunday Went for another karaoke session with Yan, Chooy, Ben10 and CC. This time, in KL. Driving to KL was my biggest feat! I am a hopeless case for directions especially driving. I asked dad to draw me a map to Lot 10. Hahahaha. But hey, I reached the place without having to call ok? Albeit the missed turning.. My mom actually said she salutes me. I asked her why. She said because I dare drive into KL. See? I have to learn! My mom hates driving into KL. LOL. Tuesday Gym... Cardio. Cause I want to/need to/must keep fit. Been binge-ing a bit. Grr... Though people have been saying I lost weight. Hmm.... Wednesday Last minute yum ...

The Triple H Summary

Image
A summary of the has happened, happening and going to happen. Heh. Has happened Participated in my first run (or walk or jog, at the rate I was going). Shape Run 2011! My colleagues and I went more for the goodie bags I think. Hahaha. We entered ourselves in the fun run category. It was... fun! We even stopped halfway to take pictures with the Putrajaya bridge... Crazy kan? Then when we saw the runners behind us dwindling in numbers, we sped up again. ROFL. Fail sial. Kiasu but still want to take pics. Pfftt... Too bad Tee couldn't make it, if not we could meet up as well. :) We saw Hunny Madu from 8TV and a guy from fly.fm too! Went for the WYD weekend retreat in APC, KL. Thank God the date was changed. If not, we'd be caught in the Bersih rally chaos as well. I got to meet and know new people, got reacquainted with old friends and... for the first time in my life, I really felt the presence of God. This is going to be theological so I won't go too much into it. Let...

It's a Man Thing

"It's a man thing." Matt said. And that sparked off a debate of male ego. Lol. Was having breakfast with my godpa and godbrothers after church, when I (the only girl present) proceeded to take the bill and pay for the meal. I just wanted to treat them but that was an unthinkable and a definite no-no action on my behalf. (I honestly didn't know.) Immediately, my godpa literally snatched the bill out of my hand, saying, "No, Kathleen." Matt jokingly added, "You think we cannot pay for ourselves is it?" I said, "No, I just wanted to treat you guys since you always pay for my sister's meal." All the guys objected, saying that it was ok. I asked why. The answer is this post's title. My ignorant action then started this talk about this race of people from the planet of Mars and their egos. Ooppss... And the sexist talk. Huh. From the gist of our talk, I got this message. When a guy offers to pay or pays for something, neve...

Half the Year has Gone...

Time does indeed fly... It's already the second half of the year 2011. In a blink of an eye, 2011 will be over and 2012 will be right in front of your very eyes. Half the year has gone. What have I achieved? My new year's resolutions were this: - Be more streetsmart, less gullible and less naive. (Does this count?) - Be smarter and more efficient in whatever I do. - Say less stupid stuff... I seem to say a lot of that. Sigh. Have I been more streetsmart? I hope. Well, at least I roughly know what to do in situations, theoretically. On the practical side, one can never predict. Have I been smarter/efficient? Not up to my expectations or my benchmark yet. I will only be satisfied when I actually do something impressive. Trying... still trying. Have I said less stupid stuff? Nope. Still the same. Open own mouth, put foot in. All the time. Urgh... I "inhale" at resolutions. I have 6 more months to do it. Try Kath, try. Speaking of which, by the end of this mont...
