Bits and Pieces 4

Am blogging to release tension and alleviate a bit of the depressing mood that I am in. It's just a struggle to get my project paper moving. Have you been to OneCity in USJ? It's nice... They have this rooftop area where you can look across, as far as your eyes can see, to different areas of Puchong, Putra Heights and Subang. Being up there at night is beautiful with the streetlights and cars driving by... nothing much to see at some dark corners though. Haven't tried it in the daytime yet. Lol! What I liked was the glass area where you could walk onto it and look down into the shopping mall itself. Do this at night, you can't see anything in the daytime. It was funny how AS and I crossed this glass panel. There we were two people who wanted the thrill (cheap thrill, :P) of crossing the glass top, but the minute we stepped onto the glass panel, we held onto each other to cross to the other side... Hahahahaha. The view of the ground floor of One City from...

A Trip, Food and a Puppy

Sorry been missing quite a while. Here's what has been happening! Exams are finally over and I am officially done with five trimesters of my studies... Whooppee!! Now, I only have one more trimester to go. You can do it Kathleen.Go kick some arse. Here's what some of us did to celebrate the end of exams. Crazy spontaneous trip. Genting's cool glow in the dark bowling alley We went up to Genting for a while. "A while" as in we left at 4pm sth and came down at 8pm sth... The shortest Genting trip ever in my life. I want to stay the night next time please. :) We got lost... hahahaha had to make a u turn near Taman Melati and get back on the proper track. The other car reached first and had to wait again for us as we could not find the parking entrance into One World hotel. The renovation up there is a mess! Well, we basically just hanged out in the casino. Some of them wanted to play, finance people ma, the rest of us just walked around, took ...

The Start of 2014

It's a cold, cold night.... Brrr...Fingers and toes are clammy. Nose is stuck. Anyway, Happy New Year!!! This picture above is dedicated to everyone whom I have intentionally and unintentionally irritated and yet patiently took my behaviours or shenanigans without dumping me as their friend or running away from me. Hee hee. I thank thee very much. Just imagine my face with the expression of the minion above. Bleah! Ok, haven't been updating much. Let's start with the basics. It's the new year, I'm going to be a year older, I'm going to have more white hairs, more wrinkles, more fat on my belly. I'm going to have as well, more sleepless nights, blurry days, sore throats, days when I just feel like dying or not waking up to face reality. That's the appetizer. Here comes main course meal 1. The New Year started quite sadly for me...Other than exams, which were the least on mind with so many things happening, there were a lot of news that wer...

A Quickie 2

Another holiday is approaching. Yay! I can't tell you how much I appreciate these little breaks in between. It lets me breathe and gain back my much needed energy.   Recently, I have been feeling very different. I don't know why... Or perhaps I do but I just don't think I want to pen this down here. I hope this feeling doesn't last long.   Anyway, here's a poem for your viewing. Scary what we as a society can do to other people. Have you ever thought about it?     Something funny to be shared, lol.   Ok, I think this short poem below would describe what I feel at the moment, for which I had no words to say.     This combination of pictures below sent a shiver up my spine... What lies beneath is anyone's guess, as good as mine, as good as yours.     Ok that's all for now... hehehe. I will try to post better posts soon.. Soon. :P

Bits and Pieces 3

Yesterday, my lecturer wanted volunteers for a voluntary assignment. Basically, he said anyone who has the interest to do it and can volunteer to do so. After that, he walked across the classroom and stood in front of me, looked at me and asked, "Would YOU like to do it?" Ehm... that's not voluntary...   I had a better workout session today, hahaha. Meaning I was more satisfied with my exercise this week as compared to last week because of some annoying gym-goers. Today, the gym was exceptionally full too. It is as if the frequent gym-goers were hibernating until the sweltering heat today woke them up. They came in droves!!! Or pairs rather... hahaha. A lady came over and asked me how to use an equipment, but I didn't know how to use it too. Another guy showed her in the end. Ooppss... Bertie Bott's every flavoured beans. (Just kidding) Colours are deceiving... Walk with me, jog with me and run with me. Always. I did some mini planting with the k...

Having a flu... Sigh. Must have caught it from my sister and my niece. I keep sneezing...Hope I don't sneeze my brains out. Few more days to get well before work starts. Fever, go away. My legs hurt terribly, especially my thighs. Must have been the hike up Gasing Hill that pushed my dormant muscles into moving again. And now it's sore. Don't even mention squatting. Huh! I couldn't even run 1km this morning. *Tsk.* Finished my part of our group assignment, yee-ha! Now to tackle the individual one which I don't have the mood to do so... :'( I feel like playing instead of cooping myself up at home, rushing my assignments. I ended up listening to very very old Chinese songs on Youtube. Don't ask me why, I'm not a fan myself. But I just did. Brought back memories of when I was younger, boyish, of when my grandmother was still alive and staying in the house with us. I wonder how she is in heaven. I wonder how some people are doing now too. Mosquitoes ...

Port Dickson Trip!

Image
I am back!! From my very very short holiday trip that is. A weekend away from the hustle and bustle of KL city. Perfect. Reason for this trip? Discount-rated rooms during the month of Ramadhan. From RM 700 per night to RM 500+. Yes, you read it right, ladies and gentlemen. RM 700 per night per room of 4 pax. Talk about high end! We stayed at Grand Lexis.   That would give you a few hints as to its pricing rate.... huh. But one main reason is that each guest room comes with its very own swimming pool. I kid you not. I didn't believe it either but it is very very true. The bible truth. The sight that greeted my eyes as I arrived at my point of destination. *jaws drop* Where we didn't stay... stayed somewhere else.    The walkway leading to the rooms located above the sea. How the pool looks like in the morning. And how the pool looks like at night.... Beautiful!! It's so blue..... The other end of the pool leads to a win...

Advertisements For Thought

Image
The items below are, of course, not for sale. These pictures just give us a representation of how different people view advertisements and products differently. Just like how, a smartphone worth RM 2000+ means a lot to me. So does the same amount which can be used to feed the poor people in some poverty-stricken countries. Ok, I will stop complaining now about how I lack funds for a lot of things, especially for a phone. :) At least I have all my basics covered, eh? And I can still afford a handbag. Hahahaha. Mei you qiong dao zen yang la....kua zhang er yi. :P

The Nature of Ambition

Image
Just something profound which I came across while tumblr-ing. It's cute, the way the artist uses exotic animals for a simple job like pet-walking..haha. It's true in a way. The things that we chase or go after and after we have it in our hands, we want more. It is never enough... Perhaps, one day we should just sit back and reflect on the past. What was it that motivated us, what was it that we actually loved, what it was that we really wanted... :)

Investor's Day 2011

Image
I had a slight injury the other day. Nothing too major. Fell down the stairs and hurt my butt. Reminded me of one episode in Grey's Anatomy where a cheerleader was hospitalized for "breaking her butt". Thank God I didn't fall face forward down the steps, I didn't roll down the steps like those you see in drama movies and thank God I didn't hit my backbone on the steps as well. I shall elaborate further on that later, now, I want to talk about Investor's Day! Went for iCapital's AGM the other day. Didn't really know what was going on. There were resolutions of who and who of what post, a seconder then a vote to put something into motion. We were given these yellow voting cards but I didn't use them as I had no idea what I was voting for. (If it's the upcoming GE, then I will know.) After that was over, the talks began. The stock market, the Euro crisis, US, China. For the first time in my life, I learned words like gross domestic product (...
