Driving in the rain

Today, I had the ‘good luck’ of experiencing driving in heavy rain for almost an hour plus, on the way home from campus. (What, Kath? Driving to Setapak??) Yes, me. Haha.

I could have left earlier and not get caught in the downpour, but I went for a little outing with my Uni friends.(Not that I’m complaining, enjoyed myself) So by the time I left, it was close to 5pm. Thus, not only was it raining heavily, it was also the time government workers left for home! Great..

Seriously, I just realized how bad the roads are near UTAR. It was flooded… and my car being the ‘low’ type could have stalled right in the middle of the road, in the middle of the downpour, in the middle of …well, KL.

Driving in the heavy rain is definitely not a fun thing to do. It was very stressful but an ‘eye-opening’ experience. Haha. (Pun intended)

Right before I hit MRR2, I was already caught in the jam. Luckily drivers were courteous and I could come onto the highway.

Dahla I’m half blind but thrice today I was ‘totally blinded’ when the car next to mine, splashed water onto my windscreen. Had to brake and stop.

Cars were also stalled in the middle of the lane which I was using. Had to switch lanes… and some kiasu people seeing me putting on my signal, purposely sped up to prevent me from switching lanes! Crap… Got honked by one person as I tried to move into the next lane. (Hello?!! Are you blind? My signal was on a long time ago when this car was so far away. He just did not want to let me go. But I did in the end. Ha!)

But one thing good about driving in the rain is that you tend to be more alert, unlike normal afternoons where I sometimes feel sleepy while driving.

Note to motorcyclists... Stick to the left lane!!! Don’t come to the middle and block our way. I am really scared of you all.. swerving and switching lanes like nobody’s business.. In the rain too!!! NUTS…
