Was having breakfast with my godpa and godbrothers after church, when I (the only girl present) proceeded to take the bill and pay for the meal. I just wanted to treat them but that was an unthinkable and a definite no-no action on my behalf. (I honestly didn't know.) Immediately, my godpa literally snatched the bill out of my hand, saying, "No, Kathleen." Matt jokingly added, "You think we cannot pay for ourselves is it?" I said, "No, I just wanted to treat you guys since you always pay for my sister's meal." All the guys objected, saying that it was ok. I asked why. The answer is this post's title. Time does indeed fly... It's already the second half of the year 2011. In a blink of an eye, 2011 will be over and 2012 will be right in front of your very eyes. Half the year has gone. What have I achieved? My new year's resolutions were this: - Be more streetsmart, less gullible and less naive. (Does this count?) - Be smarter and more efficient in whatever I do. - Say less stupid stuff... I seem to say a lot of that. Sigh. Have I been more streetsmart? I hope. Well, at least I roughly know what to do in situations, theoretically. On the practical side, one can never predict. Have I been smarter/efficient? Not up to my expectations or my benchmark yet. Everyone lacks something in some areas of their life. Some of us are good in hiding it, behind a mask, a facade. Some of us are not so good, and it can be seen by careful observation. Some of us, don't give a "beaver's dam" about it and gladly shares with the world. Is everyone smart? I would say yes, for the average person. People with special needs are different.
