Me and my Canto

Argh!!! I feel like an idiot today. I have already mentioned before (I think) that my cantonese is very very bad. My native tongue is English. Has, is and will always be. But, before you people are quick to judge, I also know Mandarin. I read, write and speak it. Of course, due to 'rare' usage or practice, it has also somehow deteriorated...hahaha. Damn. I learned canto from my late grandma and aunties who all speak a lot of canto, and of course, Hong Kong TVB dramas! Unfortunately, canto does not come easily to me!!! I knew it during uni days, when coursemates from Ipoh all spoke fluent cantonese and there I was struggling. In the end, I always switched to Mandarin as I am still more fluent in it. What happened today makes me hate myself. And forces me to speak more canto and watch more canto dramas!!! It was about 1 something in the afternoon after a meeting and I went to pack lunch for myself and my other colleague in the shop. I ordered chicken rice. Everything was ok unt...

Annoying!!

Annoying how some people treat you as an invisible person. Annoying how some people do not spare a thought for you. Annoying how you have been there more often in front of them than the other person and yet they only find you when they know you have contact with that someone they are interested in. Annoying how after that, they stop contacting you again. One word -  Annoying. Why not ask her yourself? Why go through me? What do you think I am? A telecommunication device? Pay me the money I spend texting her, asking how she is, all the way in other countries. Then I will let you know how she is. Coward.

What Happened at KD

I nearly got knocked down by a car today (21/7/2010). It was after work and we (YK, CY and I) decided to head over to Kota Damansara to have dinner at Arisu, a Korean BBQ restaurant. YK had parked her car so I went further up as there were more parking spaces available and I could park my car in peace (meaning, no other cars behind waiting for me, I hate that). I parked and walked back to where YK and CY were standing by YK's car. It was kinda dark. I had to cross over to the other side of the road at a so-called cross-junction. I am very careful (duh). Thus, I always look out before crossing (basic road lessons we learn, look left look right look left again). Cars (normally) signal when they want to turn right to enter the road I was crossing. You can also gauge whether the car is turning, even if he is not signaling, by observing the way they drive. This particular car did not signal and did not make any signs of turning into that road. In fact, it was driving as though it ...

Crowded Facebook

Facebook is getting a bit too crowded for me. I am a personal kind of person. I value my privacy and treasure it like it's the last thing on earth. Being internet savvy, joining social networks, blogging, all these activities just kind of take away that security I hang on to. It's not big a deal. Hey, I love blogging and I am too insignificant in the web world to garner any stalkers or hardcore fans. Haha. Thank God. So I can happily blog in here, (almost) everything I want to say. Facebook, however, is becoming a different story. Ever since the mistake I did with my account in Friendster (I approved every Tom, Dick and Harry's request), I have become very selective in who I approve as my friend and of course, who I add. It is not that earth shaking, ignoring friend requests from unknown people, especially when their profile pictures are blank, pictures of animals, food stuff and inanimate objects. Like what the hell... If you want to add me, you jolly well show me ...

On A Break

Image
Yes, while I let my beloved blog grow some shitake mushrooms, let me take a break from blogging. I have a lot of things to vent out actually. The injustice, the un-professionalism, the immaturity. But, I have too much on my hands right now to handle. Hence I will be back in full force with wonderful posts to entertain you and trigger your idle mind. :) Bye for now. But do check back in five days time.
